NWAPA Mudfest Recognizes Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

Each year, the Northwest Automotive Press Association hosts its Mudfest competition to find the best off-road vehicles on the market. Now in its 23rd year, the NWAPA Mudfest has recognized both the Jeep Compass and the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk for their excellence as off-road vehicles.

The Mudfest takes place over two days, during which 28 journalists from the NWAPA test drove 27 vehicles on on-road and off-road courses at the Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington.

The all-new 2017 Jeep Compass won the Compact Utility Vehicle category. The Compass is widely regarded as the most capable compact SUV ever, and the NWAPA judges were impressed with its “extreme off-road capability with competent on-road performance.”

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk was also noted for its on-road ability as well as its off-road performance as the most capable Jeep vehicle ever made. Tuan Huynh, the Mudfest Event Chair, said that “Jeep vehicles are renowned for going off the beaten path,” and Head of Jeep Brand Mike Manley agreed that that “consumers are now enjoying the unmatched Compass capability that impressed NWAPA members.”
