How to Prepare the Perfect Thanksgiving Dinner

perfect Thanksgiving dinner

Ah, Thanksgiving—with so much good food bringing the family together, it’s easy to get excited. Of course, if you’re hosting the big Thanksgiving dinner, you might be a little stressed out, too. Don’t worry! Here are some key tips for preparing the perfect Thanksgiving dinner that is sure to bring everyone together in honor of giving thanks for such a delicious meal.

Turkey is Key

What’s a Thanksgiving meal without a turkey? Turkeys are enormous birds, so you might get in over your head if this is your first time preparing a turkey. Remember to do your research in advance and start prepping ahead of time.

Make Room for Everyone

Make sure you pick a place in your house that’s welcoming to the amount of people you’ll be hosting—and that you have enough tables and chairs to accommodate everyone, too!

Have Guests Bring Dishes

Thanksgiving can get overwhelming if you try to make the whole meal yourself. Pick a few choice things to make—maybe classics like turkey, mashed potatoes, or cranberry jelly—and tell your relatives to show up with a couple goodies of their own.

There’s a lot more to a perfect Thanksgiving dinner than that, but following these simple tips cover the basics and make life a lot easier and more fun for everyone involved.

Tips for Buying Your First Car

Tips for Buying Your First Car

Buying your first car can be overwhelming, especially if you’re on a tight budget. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to ensure that you get the right car for the right price. Here at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we have some helpful tips for buying your first car.

  1. Research – Do some research into all different makes and models, and then determine which one would work best for you. Narrow your search down to a few segments and then identify several models that best fit your needs in each category. Try to test drive them all and see which one is a better fit for you.
  2. Prioritize – If you don’t have a use for a truck, don’t buy one. If you don’t go off-roading, a versatile, fully-stocked off-road vehicle probably isn’t the way to go either. You may not get your dream car on your first trip to the dealership, but getting what you need is more important than buying what you want.
  3. Budget – Having a loose budget is a mistake, especially if you don’t have much in the way of liquid assets. Buying an expensive car will be fun for a few months but you’ll quickly regret it once you can’t make the payments. Set a budget and stay firm, no matter what a dealership tries to sell you. Odds are there’s a car within your budget already on the lot. You just have to find it.

How to Get Your Car Ready for Fall

How to Get Your Car Ready for Fall

Summer has finally come to a close, which means it’s time to start preparing your car for the colder months of the year. Fall marks the perfect time to make sure your car is in proper working order. Here are some tips to help you get your car ready for fall, courtesy of those of us here at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

  1. Battery – If your car’s battery is more than a few years old, it may be time for a replacement. For those who want to take care of the battery themselves, start by scraping away the corrosion from the posts and cable connections. Clean the surfaces and check the fluid level every month if the battery caps are removable.
  2. Tires – As the weather grows colder, tires tend to deflate. Now is the time to check your tire pressure and ensure they’re properly inflated. Properly inflated tires provide better traction, increased fuel economy, and an overall smoother ride. Best of all, you only need to check your tire pressure once every week or two.
  3. Lights – A vehicle’s lights are one of the most important safety systems there is. Without them, drivers can’t see you and you can’t see them. Replace any dead bulbs and clean the lenses to ensure maximum safety during the colder months.

What We Know About the Jeep Wrangler Pickup

What We Know About the Jeep Wrangler Pickup

Jeep has been teasing the idea of a Jeep Wrangler pickup since it pulled the sheets off the Gladiator concept over ten years ago, but the concept never made it to production. Since then, rumors have faded in and out of the auto industry about the existence of a Jeep pickup truck but nothing ever came to fruition. Now, however, the Jeep Wrangler pickup is becoming a reality. The next Wrangler, due out in 2017, will feature a pickup variant in its lineup.

This is what we know: Jeep CEO Mike Manley has given the Wrangler pickup a late 2017 launch date, and confirmed that it will be based on the next-generation Jeep Wrangler. The current generation of the Wrangler will continue to be built until March 2018, but production of the next-gen model will overlap. Likely to be produced in Toledo, Ohio, the Wrangler will retain its classic body-on-frame build, but with a new aluminum-intensive body. And while rumors of a Hellcat engine are just rumors, the Wrangler pickup will probably get an available 300-HP Turbo engine.

Considering anticipation for a Jeep Wrangler pickup has been building since before rumblings of an official truck variant coming to light surfaced last September, it’s likely the Wrangler truck will find success in its niche market. Keep an eye out for it late 2017.

New Car Care Tips

New Car Care Tips

Getting a new car is one of the most exciting moments of your life. But it can also be scary having a brand new car in your hands. Here are some new car care tips for your new ride!

Change Your Oil

This is pretty obvious, since you should be doing this whether you have a new or used car. But it’s actually tricky with a new car, because you should change your oil after the first 20 miles. You want to do this because your car parts are new and not worn in yet.

Gradual Acceleration

You want to be easy on the gas when you have a new car. Practice gradual acceleration and stops when you’re behind the wheel. You break in a new pair of shoes, so you’ll want to “brake” in your car.

Wash & Wax

You’ll want to give your new car a nice wash before you take it out. Using wax or paint protection will keep the car not only from getting dirty, but from getting chipped.

The best advice you can get on your new car is from your dealership! Once you get a new car, ask us here at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram what to do!

75 Years of Jeep

75 Years of Jeep

Jeep has been around for quite a while—75 years to be exact! And they’re not done making history. Let’s go back in time and celebrate some of Jeep’s biggest milestones!

1940

In 1940, the first Jeep was born. It was called “Willys Quad,” and essentially was the first Jeep Wrangler! Production of other models continued through the decade and helped soldiers around the world.

1953

This was the year Jeep (called Willys-Overland then) was sold to Henry J. Kaiser. This is significant because it was the start of growth and research on 4WD sport utility vehicles.

1963

Ten years later, the Jeep Wagoneer was born, which is what led to the development of the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.

1986

The 1987 Jeep Wrangler was introduced, which immediately became popular. Shortly after, Jeep became a division of the Chrysler Corporation.

1993

This was the year the famous Jeep Grand Cherokee was introduced, which ended up replacing the Wagoneer. The Grand Cherokee continued on to become one of the most popular SUVs on the market.

2015

Jeep wasn’t done with surprises in 2015, when they premiered the innovative Jeep Renegade, taking on the small SUV market.

What is a Credit Score?

What is a Credit Score

What is a credit score? It’s a question you may have asked yourself when the subject of paying for a car has surfaced. A credit score is a number that ranges from 350 to 800 and it effectively determines your financial future. Here at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we’ll tell you all about credit scores!

We’ve talked before about what makes up a credit score but, in short, it’s made up of five main factors: payment history, amounts owed, length of credit history, new credit, and credit mix. Since each factor plays a major role in your financial future, it’s important to know how to improve each factor, thereby improving your credit score as a whole.

  1. Payment History – Make payments on time and, if late, make the payment as soon as possible.
  2. Amounts Owed – Keep how much you owe on your credit accounts to a minimum.
  3. Length of Credit History – Maintain a positive credit history.
  4. New Credit – Avoid opening or applying for large amounts of new credit over a long period of time.
  5. Credit Mix – Avoid opening new credit accounts simply to create a more diverse credit mix.

Lenders use your credit score to determine how much of a risk you are. A low credit score indicates a high risk and, as a result, loans will usually have high interest rates. A high credit score indicates a low risk and loans will usually bear lower interest rates.

Finding out where your credit score stands is fairly easy. Pay a visit for AnnualCreditRaport.com and make a request. Thanks to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, anyone can request their credit report from Experian, TransUnion, or Equifax, the three major credit bureaus. It really is that easy!

Jeep’s 75th Anniversary

Jeep’s 75th Anniversary

It’s no secret that Jeep has been around a long while, but you probably didn’t know Jeep just hit its 75th anniversary. The original Jeep, Willys MB, went into production in 1941 to serve in the military. The Willys MB is considered by many to be the oldest four-wheel drive mass-produced vehicle. During World War II, Jeep became the preferred light four-wheel drive vehicle of the United States Army, and continues to serve to this day.

Inspired by Jeep’s proud heritage, the brand has created a 75th Anniversary Edition for every model on the lineup. The Jeep Compass, Renegade, Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Patriot will bear unique badging for the model year.

Toledo, Ohio is putting on the Toledo Jeep Fest to celebrate both the brand’s anniversary and the automaker’s contribution to the city’s economy. The event takes place on August 13th, and will feature a parade supported by the United States military. Following the parade, historic displays, car shows, live bands, and food will make the event a bash to remember!

The inspiration for modern-day SUVs, Jeep models are off-road vehicles that are designed for the roughest terrain nature has to offer. Boasting a sense of adventure and the reliability to go anywhere, Jeeps are built to last.

Here at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we’re proud to celebrate Jeep’s 75th anniversary!

Used Car Buying Tips

Used Car Purchasing Tips

Buying a used car is a great financial choice, but you still need to be careful about which car you choose. Here are a few used car buying tips to help you along the way.

  1. Set a budget. Lay out your financing to see how much of a car you can afford. Don’t forget to include things like fuel costs, insurance, etc.
  2. Consider alternatives. While you may have your heart set on a particular make and model, look at the competition, too. You may be able to save thousands if you buy a less popular model that is just as reliable.
  3. Read reviews and check prices. Use sites like com and KBB.com to read reviews for specific cars. You can also use these sites to see how much a particular car should cost.
  4. Look at local inventory. Check online listings for cars that are close to you. Here at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we have a large, ever-changing inventory.
  5. Get a history report. This is particularly important for a used car. A history report, like from Carfax, will show you if the car has been involved in any accidents and other important information.
  6. Test drive. Take any cars you are considering out for an extensive test drive.
  7. Inspect the car. Unless the used car is a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) car, have it inspected by a mechanic you trust to check for any issues.
  8. Close the deal. Negotiate a price and close the deal.

If you need any help finding the perfect used car, give us a call at Paulding Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll help you find it.
